Awards Overview

JME participants earn awards by accumulating points at each Evaluation (up to 5). When they earn 15 points, they receive a trophy.  When they accumulate 30, 45, 60. 75, and 90 points they receive even more trophies that increase in size (yes, we’ve had several 90-point winners). Think about it – that’s at least 9 years of participation and piano lessons.  We are so happy that students have been motivated to continue lessons and have taken such pride in earning such amazing awards.

Performance Awards

Special Achievement Medal

Participants earn this by receiving a Superior Rating and by being nominated by the judges for a truly exceptional performance.  Only a small fraction of participants who receive a Superior rating earn this award.  Students who receive one are very accomplished for their age and number of years of piano lessons.

Special Achievement Trophy

The fourth time participants are recommended for the Special Achievement Medal, they receive a Special Merit Trophy, a “dragon tail” design trophy, which features the medal.

Outstanding Performer Award

The seventh time participants are recommended for the Special Achievement Medal, they receive the Outstanding Performer Award, a beautiful crystal-like prism that showcases the medal.
